I have Samini in my palm - Kwick Action
Talented Ghanaian producer Kwick Action, known for creating such pivotal records as Tic Tac’s Fefe Ne Efe, Okofuo Kwadee’s Yeko Mmaa Pe, and Kwaw Kese’s Monkey Dey Work has declared to TV3’s Owusu Worae in an interview, that he possesses the specific ingredient Samini requires to return to his former glory.
Now seemingly latent, the producer chalked monumental success with the High Grade Family boss, recording the timeless Music Man, as well as Odo, which went on to pick up a laurel at the prestigious MOBO Awards in 2006.
Explaining music as a spiritual enterprise in which chemistry is key, he disagreed with Samini’s longstanding label as a “Dancehall” act, and described the current crop of producers the singer is working with as ignorant of his (Samini’s) true musical style.
“Everybody needs a producer that you [sic] click with. Somebody like Samini –if I close my eyes, I know what I can do for Samini, then he will bounce back to be Number one or something. I have him in my palm” he said with a confident expression on his face.
Kwick Action has been credited with influencing many of this generation’s biggest stars. He however bemoaned the lack of appreciation by some artists after they hit the limelight.
