National launch of Newborn care campaign 2017

In Ghana , a newborn dies every 15 minutes, insulting in thirty thousand (30000) deaths annually. Numerous interventions have been put in place to reduce new born deaths .

Inspite  of all measures to reduce the deaths of new borns, the mortality rate still remains high. In light of this, premier events & promotions in collaboration with MOH, PATH and others stakeholders are embarking on a campaign to promote new born in Ghana.

Nana Adwoa Awindor , the host of 'greetings from Abroad' and director of premier events and promotions was present at the launch.

The minister of health Hon. Kwaku Agyemang Manu and He is the MP for Dormaa Central, in delivering his speech said there is the need for new born care and survival in Ghana and he said would ensure there is reduction in new born deaths by setting up structures (NICUs) at various health facilities which may be easily access to.

"And this facilities must be well equipped with enough incubators, radiant warmers,phototherapy machines and equipments that are in need for the care of new borns. Philanthropist, groups and individuals are welcomed to support new born care and surval", the minister said.
In conclusion, he thank the organizers of the program for their feel for new born care.

The Paramount Queen of Dormaa Traditional Council, Odeneho Akosua Fima Dwaben || chaired the program.
