Mahama bus burns into ashes

Over thirty (30) passengers who were traveling from Kaneshie nearly met their untimely death after a bus with registration number GR 5182-15 in which they were travelling in caught fire at Adom City near Opeikuma in the Awutu Senya Municipality on the Kasoa-Winneba Highway Wednesday afternoon.
The Metro Mass Transit Bus, popularly known as Mahama Bus, since it was registered during his era, was said to have loaded from Kaneshie and was heading to Cape Coast in the Central Region when two of its rear tyres suddenly ruptured and set ablaze.

I told one passenger who was sitting beside me that something is burning inside the car and he told me that where we are seated is where the engine of the vehicle is located. So, it was when we got to Opeikuma that the tyres ruptured and so I pushed some people before getting a way out of the car,” a passenger who was onboard the bus narrated to Kasapafmonline.com.
Another passenger expressed shock about the incident, adding that he thought they had met their untimely death.
Eye witnesses say it took the intervention of the Ghana Fire Service to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby properties before finally quenching it.
